    LADY CHARGERS TAKE DOWN THE PIRATES 60-47 on SENIOR NIGHT

    The Chargers came into Payette with a mission and left with a statement win.

    Cole Valley’s Vienna Westhuis was UNSTOPPABLE, pouring in 19 points to lead all scorers and cement herself as one of the most dangerous offensive weapons in the conference.

    Abbie English stepped up in a big way with 10 points of her own, giving Cole Valley that crucial secondary scoring threat.

    The Chargers led 32-20 at halftime and never looked back, improving to 5-4 in conference play and positioning themselves nicely as the season heads toward crunch time.

    On the other side, the Payette Pirates showed heart on their senior night despite the loss. Sianna Gable was a force with 13 points, battling all night long. Jill Gaida matched that energy with 12 points, with help from Haylo Collingwood and Victoria Walker with 7 points each.

    The Pirates fall to 0-9 in conference play, but the fight in this group is undeniable. Senior night didn’t end the way they wanted, but these players left everything on the court for their home crowd.

    Girls (Districts start Feb. 5th)

    Fruitland is rolling, sitting at 7-1 in conference play and 14-5 overall. McCall-Donnelly (6-2) and Weiser (5-3) are right behind, fighting for positioning. Cole Valley is at .500 in league play but holds an impressive 12-6 overall mark. Homedale and Payette are looking to play spoiler down the stretch.

    Boys

    It’s a battle at the top. Cole Valley leads at 4-4 in conference with an 11-4 overall record, but Homedale is surging at 3-1 with fewer games played. Fruitland and McCall-Donnelly are knotted at 2-2, while Weiser (1-3) and Payette (0-4) are still searching for wins in league play.

    The final weeks of the regular season are going to be intense. Seeding is on the line, rivalries are heating up, and every game matters.

    The Wolverines pulled off a fourth-quarter comeback to take down the Pirates in a conference showdown at PHS tonight.

    Payette held the lead through the first three quarters, but Weiser found another gear down the stretch, outscoring the Pirates in a decisive final frame to steal the victory.
