What a NIGHT under the lights! Over 1,000 fans packed the stands on a Friday night to watch the Grizzlies battle back from a halftime deficit to secure a dominant victory over the Trojans to STAY UNDEFEATED

The former Weiser High School standout is transferring from Treasure Valley Community College in Oregon to Grays Harbor College in Washington, continuing her softball career in the Northwest Athletic Conference.

 TVCC to  Grays Harbor College. Aburto originally committed to TVCC on March 8, 2024

Aburto is looking for a fresh start and more opportunities with the Chokers as she transitions from Oregon back to the Pacific Northwest. Her ability to work counts and get on base could be valuable assets for Grays Harbor’s program.

The Fruitland Grizzlies cap off an UNDEFEATED 24-0 season with a dominant 12-0 championship victory over Payette!

The Grizzlies completed their dream season in emphatic fashion, showcasing the dominance that made them the #1 team in the Snake River Valley all year. After a scoreless two innings, Fruitland’s offense exploded:

𝐆𝐀𝐌𝐄 𝐇𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐋𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓𝐒:

• 3rd Inning: Fruitland broke it open with 6 runs, highlighted by Max Vidlak’s thunderous 3-run homer to right field and Nate Grosvenor’s 2-RBI single
• 4th Inning: The onslaught continued with 6 more runs on 4 hits, including Jayden Grosdidier’s 2-RBI double and Grosvenor adding two more RBIs

Coye Coffman delivered a championship masterpiece, allowing just 1 hit in 5 shutout innings while striking out 9 Payette batters!

For Payette, the remarkable Cinderella run comes to an end, but their season may not be over! After back-to-back upset victories to reach the championship game, the Pirates now await to see if they’ll receive an at-large bid to the Regional Tournament.

Jahzyon Sylva collected Payette’s lone hit, continuing his strong postseason performance even in defeat.

• Quinn Hood – The dangerous infielder went 4-for-4 in their first playoff victory and has been a run-producing machine all season
• Titus Vidlak – Leadoff catalyst who went 2-for-3 with an RBI in their semifinal win over Homedale
• Max Vidlak – Power threat who homered in the semifinal showdown
• Owen Baker – Stellar starting pitcher who allowed just 1 run over 5 innings in their win against Homedale

𝐏𝐀𝐘𝐄𝐓𝐓𝐄:

• Jahzyon Sylva – The Pirates’ leadoff hitter has been UNSTOPPABLE in the playoffs – went a perfect 4-for-4 in yesterday’s comeback win over Homedale and dominated on the mound against Cole Valley with 9 strikeouts
• Jake Penfold – Versatile threat who collects multiple hits and causes chaos on the basepaths with his aggressive stealing
• Jayden Barrera – Clutch hitter who delivered the game-changing 2-RBI double in their upset over Cole Valley
• Gauge Christy- The Pirates’ relief ace who has been essential in both playoff wins, including 4⅓ strong innings yesterday against Homedale

The Pirates have shocked everyone with back-to-back extra inning upsets over the #2 and #3 seeds. Can they complete the miracle run against the undefeated Grizzlies? Or will Fruitland cap off their perfect season with a district championship?

This tournament follows double-elimination rules! If Payette wins tonight, the teams will face off in a second game tomorrows, as Fruitland remains undefeated in tournament play. The Pirates need two victories tonight to claim the title, while the Grizzlies need just one.
